Fall Interior Design Trends

Fall is a time when many people look around their home and realize it will be filled with family and friends for the holidays.  Sadly, it isn’t always looking up to the task.  So- with Thanksgiving just around the corner, what better time to reassess your “look” and perhaps spruce things up a bit?  Let’s take a peek at some industry trends.

Bordeaux, burgundy, Damson plum and misty-morning blue are the new “it” colors. You will also see plaids, checks and polka dots for accents, a new palette of neutrals and lots of texture for upholstery and window coverings.  There is a silvery shine and oil-rubbed bronze for a vintage look on shades, table legs, lamps and chairs.

You don’t have to go to New York or Los Angeles to find talented designers, craftspeople, and stores to complete the new look. In San Diego you can visit Roche Bobois and Seaside Home in La Jolla, John Nalevanko in Del Mar, Hold It in Mission Valley, Progress in South Park, CTT Furniture in Sorrento Mesa, Restoration Hardware in Fashion Valley, and there are many more.

If you are on a budget and have some talent, you can find the right ingredients at fabric stores, consignment shops and discount stores like Marshalls and Home Goods.  Go through the magazines and websites and make note of the look you want and then go on the hunt.

And if you need to call in reinforcement let me know.  I can refer you to some talented designers.
